the marrying kind...

I went to see Return of the King last night and this night (or morn) I am watching the extended edition of the Two Towers. What I have decided is that I want to marry Pippin. I have declared my desire to marry charecters in movies before. My mother actually observed once that falling in love is my hobby, but really, it's only happened that I myself want to marry a charecter a few times. Most noteably Maximus and Crawl (which was really more an off handed threat to my father). The funny thing is this, which I have to say makes me think that perhaps what I really need to do is marry Russell Crow... but Natalie Crow just doesn't sound that good, so I think being a Hobbit and marrying Pippin is really the best thing for all concerned, besides that fact that people will forever be wondering what it was in fact that I "took"... he hehe.

I found out a couple weeks ago that Billy Boyd is a Glaswegian. He used to do lots of theatrical stuff over here before he got the role of Pippin. Actually, one of my flatmates' best friends was sitting next to him at the pre-show meeting when he found out he'd gotten the role. Apparently he was quite excited...

He was quite good in Master and Commander too.

I'm curious to know what core requirements a movie character must meet to attain 'marraige target' status, and how you would go about marrying one.

My last year at Cov (the year Maximus ruled the screen), all the girls in my history major class had a major crush on Maximus. We almost fought about! :-)

Firstly, glad to know you aprove Steele, secondly, I DON"T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT YET EB!!! I will get on asking someone to fix it though. Thirdly, Michael, I don't really know. It can't be someone you are in love with for the sake of the girl in the movie (like, Wesley, Mr. Darcy et al), but like, someone you yourself want to marry. Here's the problem, you really don't get to marry them, you just have to keep your eyes peeled for people who have these qualities of oddness. For instance: When I was watching Gladiator for the first time with my daddy I turned to him and said: "I want to marry him dad." I think he is still working on it.

Natalie, for what qualities in Pippin are you keeping your peepers peeled? I mean, are you looking for guys that can sing? Guys that aren't afraid of gluttonous old kings blinded my power? Guys that are impetuous but well-intentioned and end up saving people like Gandalf and Faramir at unlikely moments?

Do clue us in, dear, after you've brushed those teeth. :)
And Merry Christmas.
And I want to marry Eowyn and happen to know something of what you mean when you talk about Pippin.
And that's about it.

Finally getting back to Bob after fixing my comments section:

Singing is nice, although love of it is better then ability- always. Bravery in the midst of evil is essential, although shows itself in many different forms. Impetuousness can be charming when it does actually work out in the end, so I guess, yes yes yes, but also... he has a really kissable looking mouth, and that's also important. *giggles* And he has the whole crazy unkept hair thing going for him (something I have always been a sucker for). So yeah, he is silly, noble, and sweet, but the packaging isn't bad either. Granted... the packaging isn't bad, but he is also hilarious, possesses integrity, and is kind. It's sort of a chicken and egg thing I guess. It all has to do with why Ben and Katzmand are so darn cute. ^_^

Have you watched the extended Two Towers with cast commentary? Oh dear, everytime I do that I fall in love with a lot of the cast/characters, not Frodo, he's a bit annoying, but definately Merry and Pippen and John Rhys-Davies (but not really Gimli) because he says words like "chimera" in such a darn sexy way.

Dude! Elijah is so annoying! You are right. It was likely the best commentary I have ever listened to. Very very very good. I mentioned it in a post on your blog.
