last weekend... Unforgotton Years

This is what I helped create last weekend at the UICA. It's a current exhibition. It's a piece by Liz Tubergen called "Unforgotten Years." She spent over 400 hours cutting each individual word out of  Logan Pearsall Smith's autobiography and we spent three days pinning it to a wall. It was awesome.

This was my station, or "the table people" if you will. We wore thimbles. (L-R, me, Paul C, Emily B, Liz Tubergen -the artist- and HDavidWIII.)

This was the whole group, but you should know some of my most excellent friends from the area also showed up to help, thanks mighty mighty much Dave, Em, Brian and the girls Brian brought who's names I forgot. This is the same picture that was featured in the Bagpipe. L-R, Grant, Liz, Meredeth, Emily, Paul, Natalie and David. And just in case it's not obvious, we are divided into the hammer people and the thimble people- the hammer people put the pins in the wall, the thimble people put the words on the pins.

There are more on Liz's flickr, go look at them and leave her a comment or two.
