"looking is good"

This got started in photo 2 when Morty went on a tangent on how "looking is good." I have been working on being honest with those I love. This is the most intense poem I have ever written to more then one face.

...

"looking is good"
so I wait for you to look at me
for the analysis of what you see
the pain of the shame
of such naked presentation
does not distill the thrill of an insight after contemplation
the sticky swallow of uncertainty in moments
before the raw pulse
of the affirmation
or beating
coming from your mouth

the flaw that creates the poetry...

Philosophy Club tonight featured a speaker by the name of J. Aaron Simmons who is studying to get his Ph.D in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. He presented his paper entitled Maintaining the Paradox: Wittgenstein, Kierkegaard, and the Possibility of Religious Life. It was a real sparker. He talked about the struggle of faith and Wittgenstein and Kierkegaard's struggle with this struggle. At one point he picked on Wittgenstein's Tractatus and pointed out how self-contradictory it is, which amused me. I really enjoyed the Tractatus when I read it last year. I think that it's the seeming flaw of self-contradiction that makes it poetry. I really loved the trip he took me on while reading it, and when I got to the end and was where I started, it tickled me.
